REMOVAL OF BIRCH REGENERATION, NEAR GRANTOWN for Dark Bordered Beauty moth

 Date:  Saturday 2nd September

Time:  10.00am

Meeting Place:  Due to the rarity of the moth and the sensitivity of the site (privately owned) we do not publicise its location.  However, if you wish to attend then simply contact the event leader for directions.

Description:  We will remove regenerating birch using handtools, (Tree poppers, loppers and bowsaws), to prevent the shading out of aspen suckers, the foodplant of Dark Bordered Beauty moth caterpillars.

Approx duration:  Up to 6 hours, but you are welcome to join in and leave whenever you want. Every little helps, so if you only want to come for an hour, you will still be very welcome.

What's Needed:  Places are limited so please let Pete know in advance if you plan to attend. Bring lunch and wear old clothes. If you have them, bring work gloves.

Leader: Pete Moore
