Field trip Insh Marshes, near Kingussie, 21st July 2010.

The weather at Insh Marshes RSPB Reserve on 21st July was atrocious. It rained absolutely non-stop and we gave up even thinking about looking for our target butterfly (Northern Brown Argus).

However, the moth trap was stuffed with moths and it took about 3 hours to go through them. The total came to 66 species of macro-moth which was fantastic (a record for me in fact).

We had to ignore loads of micro-moths but three obvious ones have been added to the bottom of the list.
