DESCRIPTION Orange and brown colouring with scalloped wing edges and a white comma-shaped mark on the underwing. LIFE CYCLE Larvae most commonly feed on Nettle, but can also use Elm, Currants, Willows and Hop. FLIGHT TIMES Can be seen in most months of the year and hibernates over winter REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION Has been seen in the Spey Valley in small numbers over the last few years, seems to be spreading north. In 2019 one was spotted in Spey Bay so the northward move continues. LINKS
