DESCRIPTION The uppersides of the wings have veins outlined by black scales. On the undersides, the veins are outlined in green, as can be seen opposite. Wingspan 40 - 52mm. LIFE CYCLE Has two broods. The second brood overwinters as a pupa. FLIGHT TIMES The Spring emegence depends on the weather, generally appearing in April or May. The second brood appears towards the end of July and can last until September. In Orkney the species may be univoltine, not appearing on the wing until June. REGIONAL DISTRIBUTION Found throughout Moray, Highland, the Western Isles and Orkney. LINKS
